Architect Steve Salembier and photographer Charlotte Bouckaert use architectural model, live photography and music to take the audience on a trip between 2D and 3 D. Beginning in the reality of the theatre space the journey moves through remembered and reconstructed spaces as visual storylines slowly unfold – like browsing a photo-album created on the spot. The two performers act as technicians of the imaginary to compose an audiovisual story live on stage. A brilliantly original, award-winning show where the past and present seem to coincide and the audience themselves gradually develop the connections in between.
“It is in your ears, but above all in your imagination, that the story takes shape”. Theater Krant
"Atelier Bildraum successfully turns art installation into theatre by inviting the audience to witness a scripted narrative that just happens to have no actors present – but the protagonists are there, just in our imaginations. It’s a welcome chance to catch this slick, atmospheric piece from a rarely visited avenue of theatre making." The Stage
